Old/New Member
I had the occasion to sit next to Harry Ridenour at the Open Board meeting this past week. Harry and Carolyn moved down here to Brandon Oaks from Gaithersburg, Md a short time ago. Harry has been a member of PCA since August 1969, which is some 53 years ago. Interesting, Dick and Caryl Hatch joined one month before Harry and Carolyn. That gives us four of the oldest members in the club! Like Dick, Harry has retained his original Porsche, in his case, a 1967 911 Targa along with an assortment of older cars. Harry has been active in rallies and car shows. While he is keeping his dual membership with Potomac (as did I), he is full time now in Roanoke and a great addition to the club!

Cars and Coffee
We had a good turnout at the C&C at Blue Ridge Bagels this past Saturday. Our photographer, Dave Hogan was having a great time as well.

Just a heads up, April C/C is 15th at Old Oak Cafe at SML.
Open Board Meeting
On March 8, we had an Open Board Meeting at Shaker’s Restaurant, Valley View Mall. Board members, wives and members all joined in for a nice social evening along with a quick board meeting. Following drinks and placing our orders, our President, Troy Smith conducted a brief but effective meeting. During and following dinner, discussions continued and we all enjoyed a chance to get to know one another better.
In keeping with a tradition of the club, Reid Kuder was awarded a Porsche Jacket for his service as a 2-term President of the club.
Cars and Coffee – March 22
All Blue Ridge Region PCA members are invited and encouraged to attend Cars N Coffee on Wednesday March 22, 2023 starting at 11:30am. Come for great cars and food, but most importantly to socialize with other club members! What an awesome way to connect with club members at this week day special event.
This is a limited capacity event so register early. A waitlist will be maintained once the event fills to accommodate additional attendees as cancelations occur.

Barber Motorsports Park – Track Adventure
by Bill Hume
ReZoom Motorsports sent out an email on 2/27 desperately looking for participants. I shared this with Sheldon Bower who immediately stated that if he car is ready then he wants to go……thanks to Sports Car Clinic the car was ready on Wednesday before we left and there begins the great track adventure. We found a place to stay – sleeping in the trailers was not an option with our ladies and we traveled down to Birmingham, Alabama. Sam Lionberger happened to be in Atlanta that weekend and he came over to ride along with Sheldon. A ton of track time on a very fast and short track. I highly recommend the track as the speeds are not high but the excitement is around all 17 turns.
