Members
For those of you who knew Manuel Sowers, a long time member of our club; who contributed much to our region including his friendship and time serving as President and in Board roles; please read the following invitation from his wife Ann Sowers.
I am having a Celebration of Life get together in honor of Manuel. It is a drop in from 1:00 to 6:00 on Sunday the 18th. There will be food and beverages. It is at our home –959 Orchard Lake Drive Daleville, Va 24083. I would love to have some Porsche people come as the club was a big part of our lives for many years. If you have a special memory of Manuel there will be a time for sharing.
Thank you
Ann Sowers
I stopped to see our friend and longtime member, Dick Hatch, at Friendship last week. I was just running errands in the area and jumped in for a few minutes to chat. He is in good spirits but lonely. I dropped off copies of our Blogger for his reading enjoyment.
He wheeled his way out with me to the reception area when I was leaving. Then a nurse came sailing down the corridor after him and grabbed a hold of the wheel chair. She said he has been trying to escape!
Stop by and say a quick hi! He would appreciate it.
He is at Friendship Health Rehabilitation South located at 5647 Starkey Road in Roanoke 24184. The phone number is 540 777-8300.

This looks interesting. It is in the Charlottesville area.
Rumor is that someone was invited to show his 1971 Maserati Ghibli. I looked at the lineup of cars. It is worth the drive up.

Bring a Trailer
I am not trying to sell stuff for Bring a Trailer but they have an awesome array of cars and I enjoy looking thru the lists and dreaming a bit.
My first love was not a Porsche, but a Jaguar. This one caught my eye.

Someone mentioned to me the other day that they were looking for a Porsche 914. I spotted this one on BAT, a 914-6 with the original engine.
Porsche 914-6
And if you are looking for an early 911 Turbo and like slant-noses and a cabriolet to boot, how about this one?

Ever considered a Singer, or even seen one for that matter? Check this out.
