From Eddie Fort

It was great seeing you and the Blue Ridge gang last Saturday. We miss seeing everyone.

A couple of notes. I belong to the Sandhills Motoring Club down here in Pinehurst and every year they put on an absolutely fantastic Concourse over Memorial Day Weekend. The pinnacle event is their free car show which is held in the Village of Pinehurst and is absolutely free to attend. You might want to mention it in your newsletter in case a few people are looking for something to do..

Here’s the Concourse’s website showing all the events planned and pictures from past shows.

Also, I noticed that BRRPCA is considering a trip to the Biltmore Estates. We sold our beach home last year and purchased a home in the mountains just outside of Asheville and if whomever decides to take the reigns for that weekend is interested we might be able to arrange to have a lunch or brunch at our clubhouse which has a great facility. Of course I’d have to work it out with the club but they seem to be pretty accommodating.

Here’s a little about the Tavern.

Porsche Trivia – from Gary Templeton

Porsche introduced the Cayman in 2005. They named it after the caiman alligator, an elusive, lightweight, sinewy reptile.

(Porsche Panorama January 2023, page 91)

Also, the word Carrera means race in Spanish. Although I think they spell it carreras

Hogan’s Corner

How well do Porsche street cars handle the curves? This stock 911 with M030 suspension holds the VIR track at 1.1 lateral Gs in the Left Hook.
