Just returned from a trip to Florida. 85 and sunny. Just in time for a warm spell here. Glad to be home!

Welcome to Jim Jones from Lexington, Virginia. Jim drives a Porsche: 2021 Macan.
Sorry to have to announce that a long time member, Sam Reefe, passed away last week. Dr. William Reefe was 98 years old. He was Chief of Medicine at the VA Medical Center for a long time. Sharon Stanley stated that “he was a dear man”. Charlie Schleupner reported that he was section chief in Infectious Diseases under Bill for years until Bill retired. Charlie recalls that Bill had a Datsun 240Z but then “Saw the light” and bought a “previously owned” blue 1972 Porsche 911 Targa which he drove daily and loved until he moved on to a Boxster. Bill died at home. Click here for his obituary. It is quite a read.

Your ideas and participation are needed!
All Blue Ridge Region PCA members are invited and encouraged to attend our Annual Planning Meeting on Saturday February 11, 2023 from 9:30am to 12:00pm, which is being held at The Green Goat (802 Wiley Dr SW, Roanoke, VA 24015). Register to attend.
In addition to great food and socializing with other club members this event is where you can help us decide the types and number of events that we will conduct in 2023. All members’ ideas for Social Events (Cars N Coffee, dinners, picnics, group attendance at public events …), Driving Events (Tours, Overnight Adventures, Rallies …), and Driving Skills Events (Autocross, High Performance Drivers Education, Tire Rack Street Survival) are welcome and needed. Want some ideas to trigger your thoughts? Check out the draft list created by our new President, Troy Smith, Even if you don’t have any ideas you can share your interest in attending potential events.
We need to plan now so we are positioned to have events this year! It’s easier to plan events than to try to pull one together at the last minute. So come on out and help drive the direction and map our travels through 2023!
Seating is limited and pre-registration to attend is required! Register at http://msreg.com/brr-plan23
Hope to see you all there! Have questions? Reply to this message or email webmaster@brr-pca.org Reid – On behalf of the BRR-PCA Board

Marc Wilson reports that regretfully, he has released our hold on the April 16 date for our Spring TRSS school with the Salem Civic Center.
Wendy with the Salem Civic Center emailed that another community nonprofit (JDRF) has requested the April date we had reserved for our Spring school. We would have needed to go to contract by that day and we are not in a position to do that. Our timeline is too short, and we still have too many people uncommitted to the Spring date to feel comfortable. It will likely take several more weeks to get enough firm commitments and board approval for a contract so I we should set our sights on a later date.
We do still have the options for these dates:
June 10-11
Sept 16-17
Sept 23-24
Oct 28-29
