Holiday Party – Update

In addition to enjoying awesome friends, savoring great food catered by our own Steve Williams, and being at a good venue the club Holiday Party included optional fundraising.  Our members contributed over $2,000 via silent auction purchases, contributions to the club, and direct donations to the region charities.  The Board will distribute all of the funds raised, plus at least a portion of a PCA subsidy, to charities within our region.  We support CASA Central Virginia, Bedford Domestic Violence Coalition, NRV Cares, and West End Center for Youth.

Annual Meeting Summary

A small slice of time was allocated to a club meeting at the Holiday Party.  First and most importantly, Reid Kuder, recognized and the membership applauded

  • Gene Reed for his 5 years serving as Chair Cars N’ Coffee (37 events, 18 venues, 968 attendees).
  • Gary Templeton for years of planning and guiding Driving Tours, being a Past President,  being the greater of new members, ensuring they got hats and other club materials, and supporting many club activities.

Thanks went out to all the Board members, committee chairs for all of their work.  Our appreciation extends to the spouses/partners as well as they often jump in to help make our events a success

The Annual Election Results were announced and our Officers, effective January 1, 2023, were introduced:

  • President – Troy Smith
  • Vice President – Bill Hume
  • Secretary – Beth Heinzelman
  • Treasurer – Jim Wallace

Our club runs on the energy and willingness of our members who share their time voluntarily as Officers, Committee Chairs, and event planners and helpers..  Members are encouraged to step-up and help with a single event, being a Committee Chair, submitting articles for the Blog and/or our website.  How about assisting with management of  our website or event registrations through Motorsportreg?  Contact any Officer or Reid Kuder to learn more.
